Frank Centofante Model 3 Spear Point LinerLock Folder …

Mr. Centofante’s folder is one of his favorite designs, that was his every day carry. This LinerLock Model 3 has titanium liners, lock and back spacer with file work anodized a blue green color. All screws are stainless steel. The blade and bolster material is Stainless Steel Damascus by Mike Norris. The scales (handle material) are Alaskan Mastodon Ivory. The Bobcat scene scrimshaw was scrimshawed by Rick Fields.

A gentleman’s gentleman. Frank Centofante was a respected knifemaker for more than forty years. He was the president of the American Knifemaker’s Guild for over a decade and was one of the pioneers of the custom knife movement.

He sold his first knife in 1968. He was a co-author of the book "How To Make Folding Knives" and an immaculate craftsman. He received numerous awards both nationally and internationally and was granted a U.S. Patent for Folding Knife With Secondary Locking Mechanism. He was inducted into the Blade Magazine Cutlery Hall of Fame and was a recipient of the Knifemakers' Guild Red Watson Memorial Friendship Award, which is the only award, voted on by members of the Knifemakers' Guild. Mr. Centofante was born in 1936 and passed away September 2009 in Madisonville, Tennessee.
