Mr. Rossdeutscher's knives are based on frontier style historical designs. He has been making knives since the early 1990s. He got his first look at blacksmithing while working at a local horse stable while in high school where he started learning his “hammer skills”. "I like the look of something that is handmade and well-used." Museums have bought his pieces for use in living history displays. "Everything I make is made to be used," he said.
