ESEE Knives Ashley Emerson Game Knife Orange G10

When ESEE finally decided to make knives specifically for hunters, they sought advice and opinions from some of the best in the industry, and the Ashley Game Knife (AGK) was designed by Ashley Emerson. As a guide and hunter from Alaska to Africa, Ashley has had opportunities to deal with hundreds of deer, many more wild hogs, and other animals from squirrels to buffalo. As he has with guns, he’s used many different knives and modified them to fit what works, and the AGK was born from his vast experience handling game in the field. The lengths of both the blade and the handle have been optimized for leverage for tough jobs such as splitting a sternum. The handle incorporates a guard, a proven grip shape, and a radiused lanyard hole large enough for a loop of 550 cord. The scales are made of canvas Micarta, which is a solid handle material that doesn’t slip when wet. Ashley has used a wide variety of scale materials, and he prefers Micarta for working knives as the grip and feel is way more important when working game than the scales being impervious to sweat, blood, and other fluids. Like the stonewashed black-oxide blade, the scales develop a great “worn-in” look with use. The blade width allows for working inside the pelvic cavity of the average whitetail, and the subtle sweep of the blade places the point in line with the handle. This still allows an optimal drop point and a continually curved edge, along with the strength of a full tang blade. With no sharpening notch at the choil, you won’t have to worry about the knife catching on hides.

ESEE

Beginning in 1997, Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin started down the path of reshaping the manner in which the survival and wilderness industry carried out business. Having become frustrated with the endless amount of exaggeration and hype often associated with “survival” gear and training, they launched Randall’s Adventure & Training to bring realistic tools and knowledge to the consumer market.

Working under contract with the Peruvian Air Force’s “Escuela De Supervivencia En La Selva” (School of Jungle Survival), also known by the acronym ESSEL, they introduced many clients to the art of jungle survival in the vast Peruvian Amazon jungle.

After a number of years operating in South America, they relocated their training stateside and launched a sister company to produce high quality field grade knives and gear – ESEE Knives

Their first design was the RTAK made by Wicked Knife Company in Arkansas, and later produced by Ontario Knife Company (OKC). They also developed the TOPS Knives made Laser Strike. After spending five years developing the RAT line for OKC, they launched ESEE Knives.

Today the ESEE brand is known and distributed worldwide. ESEE Knives / Randall’s Adventure & Training clientele ranges from special operations personnel, rescue technicians, hunters, law enforcement, border security, film crews, outdoorsman and professional adventurers. Their courses and gear have been featured on the Travel Channel, Discovery Channel and in numerous movies, books, leading outdoor magazines and trade publications.

The company’s philosophy is simple: treat the customer with respect, keep the prices fair, provide the best in quality, and never teach a skill or provide a piece of gear that hasn’t been tested in the real world.

Every student that walks through the doors of Randall’s Adventure & Training leaves with a set of skills that will stay with them throughout their life. Furthermore, every end-user of an ESEE product knows they are backed by the industry’s best warranty and customer service.

In the world of factory knives, survival gear and wilderness training, ESEE/Randall’s Adventure & Training is one of the only companies where the owners and employees all live the lifestyle of the gear they produce and the training they teach. No suit and tie, just hard-won ground truth that is reflected in some of the world’s best knives, gear and training.
